Blog » Asus Eee Pc 1001PQ: installing touchpad driver on Windows 7 Ultimate
The touchpad driver for Windows 7 on the official Asus site doesn't work properly: the grey icon in the system tray doesn't react on cursor movements and pressing of the buttons. The problem gets worse if KB Filter Utility is installed and you've pressed the Touchpad On/Off button. In such a case, the touchpad turns off and it's impossible to turn it on again until you uninstall Synaptics Touchpad drivers or KB Filter Utility (ATK, functional keys utility).
However, there is a hidden recovery partition containing Windows 7 Starter installation image on the HDD of the netbook. We can take the touchpad driver from that image, and here is how you can do it:
After that the touchpad driver must work correctly, including the interactions with KB Filter Utility: from now on the touchpad not only can be turned off, but on too!
Don't forget to make the partition back hidden.
I cannot understand a word you are saying. I wanna cry. I should have bought another year of service at Best Buy. Great. Now my touch pad doesn't work on my asus after I updated Windows 10. Then my up and down button on my keyboard doesn't work. I don't speak computer talk so basically I am SOL. :-('''''''
